About the “Revolutionary Struggle” case

On 10/03/2010 the anarchist guerrilla Lambros Foundas falls deadly wounded after a clash with the police in Dafni.

One month later (10/04/2010) Kostas Gournas, Nikos Maziotis, Pola Roupa, Christoforos Kortesis, Sarandos Nikitopoulos and Vagelis Stathopoulos, are arrested and later placed in pre-trial detention, accused of participation in the organisation Revolutionary Struggle.

Kostas Gournas, Nikos Maziotis and Pola Roupa have claimed the political responsibility for their participation in the organisation. In their claim of political responsibility, they made clear that Lambros Foundas was their comrade –a member of the organisation, and that his action was part of a preparatory action plan of the organisation.

Christoforos Kortesis, Sarandos Nikitopoulos and Vagelis Stathopoulos deny all charges, and emphasise that their imprisonement is a result of their political identity, as well as a targeting of their comradely and friendship relationships.

Within this context of comradely and friendship relationships, tens of witnesses are called to the interrogation offices. In fact, four of them (amongst which the partner of Kostas Gournas and mother of his children) were accused of participating in the organisation, but were released under restrictive terms.

Update: Christoforos Kortesis, Sarandos Nikitopoulos and Vagelis Stathopoulos were released on the 4th of April and are awaiting their trial.
